Stefanie Powers
Stefanie Powers (born Stefania Zofia Federkiewicz) on November 2, 1942 is an American actress and conservationist.
She started her career as a dancer in West Side Story, but was fired due to her age. She was only 15 at the time.
Her first stage name was Taffy Paul.
After she met Blake Edwards, her first real brake came by playing the part of Toby in "Experiment in terror" alongside Lee Remick.
She played in several films with some great names such as; "McLintock" with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, "Fanatic" with Tallulah Bankhead, "Love has many faces" with Lana Turner and "Herbie rides again" with Helen Hayes.
It did not make her a star though. In 1966 she starred as April Dancer in "the girl from U.N.C.L.E.". This series only lasted one season, but is considered a cult series now.
After doing several guest appearances in tv shows such as "Cannon" , "Mc Cloud", "MOD squad" and "Love American style" she landed another series with Harold Gould in "Feather and Father gang". The idea was "borrowed" from another series named "Switch" which starred Robert Wagner. This series too ended after only 14 episodes including the pilot.
Fame came finally in 1979 when she was asked to play the part of Jennifer Hart in "Hart to Hart" with Robert Wagner.
The series soon became very populair. The series ended in 1983.By then Stefanie has founded the William Holden Wildlife Foundation in Kenya. To this day she serves as its President.
Stefanie is still active as an actress and a singer.
